Just like the Hyundai Sonata, the new Tucson is a complete departure from the previous generation and follows the "fluidic sculpture" design path that Hyundai is on. The vehicle is all-new and is one of seven all-new models set to debut by the end of 2011.
2010 Hyundai Tucson vs 2009 Hyundai Tucson
The old cute-as-a-button design of the 2009 model is gone and replaced by much more aggressive design. The headlights are swept back with a thinner profile and the fenders and hood feature new creases. It all adds up to a sleeker design that looks more sporty than rugged like the old model. Chrome is added to the front fascia and door handles in the Limited trim.
The tail lights wraparound now and flow into a body crease on the side. The side windows have been revised that come to a point in the rear rather than being squared off. A new spoiler and completely revised rear looks enormously more attractive.
The interior is also much improved. The layout is more modern with a nicely styled center stack that's more unique than before. A ton of new features will be offered such as an air purification system and a panoramic sunroof, the first time available in any Hyundai. Along with the usual standard features such as power windows and locks and remote keyless entry, Bluetooth will be offered with voice recognition and a 160-watt audio system that includes iPod and USB connectivity will come standard. The Tucson also comes with a complimentary 90 day subscription of XM Satellite Radio. A 6.5-inch navigation system is also offered that features a backup camera and an upgraded 360-watt audio system.
